I can't realize how could the persons who did those horrible things to Sylvia live a normal life and not apologize or show remorse for what happened (most of them).

- Als ich im Internet auf diese Geschichte gestoßen bin, habe ich mich entschlossen den Film An American Crime rein aus Interesse anzusehen. Ich dachte nicht, dass ich so sehr mitfühlen werde, aber diese Geschichte geht wirklich unter die Haut. Ich bin darüber schockiert was Sylvia angetan wurde und finde die Mörder hätten damals häter bestraft werden sollten. Hoffentlich konnte Sylvia nach ihrem Tod den Frieden finden, niemandem sollte das wiederfahren, was sie erlebt hat..

- My dad called on the house next door as part of an outreach from Englewood Christian Church which is nearby. It haunts me that he never heard anything going on there. The pastor of Englewood, knowing my interest in this case, told me he had a visitor's card from Sylvia, had saved it all these years. He's gone now, and though I asked many times for the card, he never gave it to me. I don't know where it is now. I wrote a piece on Sylvia for Indianapolis Monthly years ago. Thanks for this website. It has been very informative.

- I, like probably many, was drawn to the true story by a movie about Sylvia. I hope her soul is in peace and I am glad she is no longer in pain. I hope that all that were involved burn for eternity for what they've done. Karma will catch you in this or the following life

- I was 2 years old when this happened. There are so many horrible crimes today, but this one still remains almost unbelievable, with so many people involved... and yet nothing could be done. It took only 3 months to change a pretty girl into a porr, lifeless body. Thanks to a family of monsters. In the end, they got what they deserved: miserable lifes, miserable deaths (most of them, at least).

- I just saw the film and it was through that that brought me to this page...I hope her soul is resting in peace ...really is so sad what happened to her and I cant believe how many people were involved and yet not one of them reached out to the police...I pray to god that those who put Sylvia through her torment are now tormented in hell and that their souls never rest in peace ..amen..

- My prayers go out the Sylvia. I can not believe the family and individuals who did this only got 2 years in jail with the mother as the one exception. Plus, you have some individuals like Stephanie who got away with it completely. It just doesn't seem right that they should have fine normal lives.
