- I don't understand how all of these people were released after 2 years for what they did to that poor girl, and to say the prosecution did a great job is just wrong. That poor girl was beaten and tortured and raped and them died and he did a great job. If I was him they all would have received the death penalty. That's what's wrong with our country murders get less time than a car thief gets.

- Okay, you guys, I have an idea. Most of us can't attend the Memorial, and no many show up, anyway. I think we should pick the same date, and I can post it on the Sylvia page and Sylvia's friend page. Everyone can light a pick candle that evening for Sylvia, and also request if they possibly can, to make a donation to their favorite children's charity or the Humane Society in Sylvia's name. The sooner I post it, the more people have time to save for their favorite charity which would be on that same July date. This is actually getting people to give if they can.

- I just watched movie "The girl next door" I don't think I've ever felt this sad since my mother passed away when I was 16. After watching movie I started researching and it was even worse for Sylvia than what the movie portrays. If the family members are still alive who tortured poor Sylvia, I hope the rest of there existence is hell. Thanks for this website, and I know its a long time ago, but right now, I,m thinking of you Sylvia.

I read the novel THE GIRL NEXT DOOR. It has been translate to chinese in Asia.
After knowing the true story I was still concern about where those bloody murderer has been then I found your website.
Thanks for updating everything and hope those killer would pay for what they did.

Really sad, cruel story. I am even surprised that they let that woman out of prision, she and her evil spawns deserve to be locked for life, I don´t care if they later came clean or a catholic minister.
My condolences to Sylvia´s family, even after 50 years is awfully sad what human beings cand do to one and other.

- Gutted to see that the justice system failed so badly, even though so many guilty verdicts were passed - they mostly got away with short sentences. Bit of Karma that half of the perpetrators died young from illness I suppose.

Please keep the website up forever! Sorry for what happened- I saw American Crime with my son and both of us could barely breathe from crying so hard. I think our pain would have been eased a little if the persons responsible would have been remorseful, but that didn't happen! There are alot of things to learn from this story- so sorry that it had to take a beatiful and innocent life

- The people resposible for this atrocity deseved far worse punisment than they have received. Gertrude Baniszewski should have been publicly hung. I am happy they still face public humilitation today. You are doing a great service by keeping records of the perpetrators. If we as a species allowed this dear girls story to be sweept away I couldn't imagine the moral implications it would have on our future. I will make it a mission to promote the film's and keep Sylvia's story alive.

Thank you very much. We have been trying to keep her story alive. Paula was actually turned in by a member of a forum dedicated to Sylvia. So many people failed to save this poor girl while she was alive, but we can save others by making sure this story is told.
