i am shocked that this story is now being told...even more that the perpetrators got away with it. serving a couple of years for the heinous torture of a child is unbelievable. i hope they all rot in hell..this is the reason for the death penalty.

It has been over 50 years now since this horrible thing happened, Sylvia. I am sitting here crying, thinking of what you had to suffer. I was a child then, but I remember the news about this almost like it was just yesterday. May you rest in peace, sweet angel.

I've read the stories about Sylvia Likens and I've seen the movies about her....... it makes me so angry seeing a sweet 16 year old little girl died of this horrible way....... Sylvia u don't know me but I'm sorry this happen to u....... I wish I was I was there with u...... I would knock some heads off for u...... but they will get what's coming to them...... since it already has and more to come...... I hope u can be my angel coz I have been bullied too when I was in school...... this really touched my heart...... I am sorry this happen to u...... when I saw the movie I had chills and tears...... but just so u know Sylvia u will have a place in my heart...... I pray for the hope to find ur sister....... I am sorry for what happened to you, Sylvia. I know a couple of the children who were involved. I can say one thing, John was so ashamed that he did this to you, that he could not even speak your name. He was that ashamed. He felt like he was unworthy to speak your name ever again, but he cried throughout his teenage and adult years, hoping that somehow you could forgive him. I don't think that he ever came to peace with this. No one could who had any conscience at all. You were a sweet Christian girl, a special gift from God. You have unified our hearts against bullying and so many other things. You are precious in our hearts and you always will be.

Sylvia, I'm so sorry about what these evil people did to you. I found out that your sister Dianna and her husband are missing and I wanted to say that I hope they will be found. see gertrude reminds me Inquisitor Torquemada shots, but this had a more consistent excuse that it was in the name of faith, while gertrude only did it for pleasure. Something more is that deberda wanted 20 dollars or wanted a scapegoat to get even for everything bad was happening.

I saw the movie..broke my heart reminded me of the movie aurore Gagon. Such sadness it brings to me that people can be so cruel to any child...my blessing to this little angel. She is such a beautiful young angel.
